Drop a Class
Students should contact their academic advisors with any questions or concerns about dropping classes.
Students have the option to drop a class via the Student Hub by the applicable deadlines; please refer to the academic calendar for drop dates for each level.
Please refer to the “Drop a Class” section in this article for instructions.
Last Day to Drop a Class without a W Grade
If a student drops a class by this deadline, the class will be removed completely from their schedule and transcript.
Last Day to Drop a Class with a W Grade
If a student drops a class by this deadline, they will receive a W (withdrawn) grade for the course, but will not receive any credit for the course.
It is recommended that students meet with their instructor(s) and advisor(s) prior to dropping a class with a W grade online, to discuss any academic/financial implication(s).
International Students: International students who hold F-1 or J-1 visa status must contact the Office of Global Services before dropping below a full-time course load. A grade of W does not count towards full-time status for international students.
Students cannot drop a class after the last day to drop a class with a W grade for the term. If a student is registered for a class past this date, they will remain in the class and receive a grade for it on their transcript.
Course Drop Request – For Students with Holds ONLY
Please submit the course drop request via the Student Hub (Registrar Forms) when you have a hold that prevents you from dropping a course online or are in a class with special drop rules. This request must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on the last day to drop a class. The Office of the Registrar will not process requests that are submitted after the drop deadline(s). (Please note- this online process has replaced the previously used Course Drop form).
